Overview of programmes offered by Confucius Institute.

Core Programmes

Foundation 基石:
For the public who needs to establish their foundation in Chinese, there are Chinese language classes, short courses on Chinese Language for Business, Basic Chinese Literature and Culture courses.

Nurture 提升:
For the Chinese language teachers and bicultural Chinese elite, there are multi-level language classes, culture and literature courses, to deepen their intellectual capacity. For the public sectors, private enterprises, corporate elites, there are a wide range of Chinese culture programmes and preparatory courses for overseas posting in China, to heighten their appreciation and understanding of the Chinese culture.

Networking 互动:
For the Chinese language scholars, enthusiasts, teachers, journalists, etc to interact and learn in multifaceted platforms, there are a wide range of networking activities such as seminars, oratorical sessions, book reviews and writing competitions. There are also large-scale international conferences and forums (jointly organized with other organizations) to enhance international exchange and increase cultural interaction.

Immersion 浸濡:
For education institutions, cultural organization and private enterprises, there are cultural and educational overseas immersion programmes, enabling them to fully experience and absorb the Chinese culture, the Chinese way of life and the vibrant university life in China.

Competency 考培(考试培训):
To co-organize training courses with China's Ministry of Education for candidates who are sitting for their Chinese language provisional tests and exams in the Chinese Language Proficiency Exam, Teaching Chinese as a Second Language Certification, etc; to offer pre-test and pre-exam training to strengthen their language abilities.

Intellectual 前沿:
To work with other organizations to jointly research, develop and publish intellectual works in the areas of language, culture and literature, such as, strategy and plans for the Chinese education, theoretical and practical teaching methods for the Chinese language, and to provide resource advisory on the Sino-Singapore language education, etc; in order to boost the Chinese language and education to another level, ensure the continuation of Chinese cultural knowledge, and groom the next generation of cultural elite.
