CI-UWA visits CI-NTU
Director of The Confucius Institute at The University of Western Australia (CI-UWA), Associate Professor David Ambrose recently completed a day of visit to Confucius Institute, Nanyang Technological University (CI-NTU) on 19 April 2010.
The visit reflected the growing interest in CI-NTU as the Institute succeeded in bringing substantial growth to its Chinese and cultural programme offerings for the past 5 years.
During the meeting at CI-NTU, Assoc Prof David Ambrose and Professor Koh Hock Kiat, Director of CI-NTU, discussed and shared a number of current practices adopted and challenges faced in managing the Confucius Institutes in both Australia and Singapore.
Prof Koh also had sessions with Ms Vada Ng, Development and Operations Manager, CI-UWA, focusing on the Top Chinese Enrichment Programme as part of their preparation in offering Chinese enrichment programmes to the young non-Chinese students in Western Australia.
Prof Koh also stressed and called for the continual promotion of Chinese culture and Language through innovative and interactive teaching platforms, thereby engaging our young generation in more meaningful ways and enhancing their overall Chinese learning experience.
